இ CARPENTERS, Close To You|Top Of The World


The Carpenter siblings were born in New Haven, Connecticut, Richard Lynn on Oct 15 1946 and Karen Anne on March 2 1950. Richard was the quiet type , plays the piano and Karen the active and outgoing sister played the drums. The Carpenters had three #1 singles on the 'Billboard Hot 100' and fifteen #1 hits on the 'Adult Contemporary Chart'. Their recording career ended after fourteen years with Karen's death on Feb 4 1983 due to complications of anorexia nervosa. Her death has caught the attention of the public after the massive coverage by the media has indeed increased public awareness on the consequences of eating disorder.
