ø BOYZONE, Picture Of You|A Different Beat|No Matter What|Everyday I Love You|Love You Anyway|Father & Son|

Boyzone is an Irish boy band formed in 1993 through an advertisement selected only 6 out of 300 singers from the auditions to form a new 'boy band' the 'Irish Take That'. The band was reduced to five members Shane Lynch, Ronan Keating, Stephen Gately, Mikey Graham and Keith Duffy. Boyzone found their success in Ireland, the UK, Australia and New Zealand and released six #1 UK hit singles and four #1 albums, with sales approaching 20 million records as of 2008. However they go separate ways in year 2000 but made a comeback seven years later.

Boyzone lost one of the two lead singers, Stephen Gately (Mar 17 1976-Oct 10 2009) who died in his sleep while on holiday in Majorca, Spain. He was 33 and the cause of his death is yet unknown. We will always carry a 'Picture of You' in our heart..RIP Stephen..

The band's second album - A Different Beat - was released in 1996 and contained its first UK number one single, a cover of the Bee Gees' hit "Words".

"No Matter What" was the group's best ever selling single and was voted Song of the Year, 1998

On 6 October, "Love You Anyway" entered the UK charts at number 5, making it their seventeenth consecutive top five single.

A message from the four members of Boyzone ~  [We are completely devastated by the loss of our friend and brother, Stephen. We have shared such wonderful times together over the years and were all looking forward to sharing many more. Stephen was a beautiful person in both body and spirit. He lit up our lives and those of the many friends he had all over the world. Our love and sympathy go out to Andrew and Stephen's family. We love you and will miss you forever, 'Steo'.' From Ronan, Keith, Mikey & Shane.']

Reanaclaire ~ Those 70s or 80s lyrics were 'registered' and after constant repetition and attention, stays on in your brain where else the newer songs are like touch n go as you have other more important task to take care unlike those younger carefree days..

Wenn - sad to hear Stephen Gately's death just when Boyzone is gearing up for a great comeback.
